Saturday before leaving London, I visited with a friend The photographers’ Gallery, an amazing place. 🙂
I made a very very great discover as there were the few last days of an exhibition of Shirley Baker’s wonderful work.
it is focused on her 60-70’s view of north England, for a great part Manchester and Salford (because Salford is not Manchester, Christopher Eccleston learned me this 😉 )
I use to prefer the old argentic black and white and Baker was a very engaged artist, at a time where there was a union restrictions on female press photographers ( !!!! )…
And seeing the place at the exact time Chris is born and grow up… it was impressive and very moving… and increased my understanding of him
